DECEMBER 23-29 He Shall Come into the World to Redeem His People

Christmas
One thing that has come to my mind this year is that from the time mankind came to earth we have looked forward to the time when Christ/Savior/Emmanuel/Messiah would come. And He came, as was promised.
O Come, O Come Emmanuel- for King + Country
Many had forgotten what or who they expected from a Messiah, and were unprepared to accept Him. I suppose we are still playing that scenario today.
Do we expect a Savior to swoop us from our pain? If so, then we blame Him for allowing us to be in pain.
Do we crave someone to be with us through our pain- to feel it with us, to strengthen us to bear it? In turning to Him then, we find Him – and feel His presence close. And miraculously – with enough hindsight – we find that we have been strengthened; we are changed into something closer to what He has created us to become. Something more like Him.
As Mary prayed for strength, so do we. Chris Eaton gives us another version of this prayer, giving thought to how we can be an answer to ease another’s pains.

Christmas means nothing without Easter! Our Savior was born much as any other, lived a very humble, ordinary and, yes, painful life. He suffered pain in death.
And then- He came again! He did the extraordinary that no other could – breaking the bonds of death; breaking through pain, redeeming it to immeasurable joy. He Lives!
Thank you Evie for putting these seasons together, for #Lighting the World.

And finally, a new favorite of an old song. (Also inspiring is the video of the recording of it.)
Wexford Carol- Alison Krauss, Yo Yo Ma, Natalie MacMaster, Shane Shanahan & Cristiana Pato
Merry Christmas to all! He came as was promised!
He came again as was promised! And we look forward still.
What will we call our celebration for when He comes the third time?
