FEBRUARY 17-23: Upon You My Fellow Servants

Come Follow Me Doctrine and Covenants 12–17; Joseph Smith—History 1:66–75

I am reminded that you can count how many seeds are in a tomato, but can you ever count how many tomatoes there are in a seed?

There are a good many seeds sown in these songs. Nurture them, and you’ll find more have shown up for another planting!

Have I Done Any Good? – Alex Boyé & Carmen Rasmussen

Jesus showed by example that no service is beneath even the greatest of us. Michael Card extends the invitation to follow Christ’s example, to pick up the basin and the towel.

We’ve had discussions recently about angels: Who are they? Where are they? The answers are that yes, they are heavenly beings; and yes, they may be watching over us; and yes, they live among us; and yes, they may be us. Who are we to limit God on who he calls to fulfill His errand? The real question is, will we be ready and willing to act when the errand falls to us?

How wonderful it is to have the priesthood, or the power of God on earth today.

When talking about the Priesthood, all too often the focus turns to who can hold what keys, or that women should hold equal keys to men. I ask you: Why? If men and women were all the same – what would we need each other for? Fact: The one who has the power to bear a child will never be a man. And aren’t we women wonderful for all that we do, strength in equal or often superior to our men. Is the service we give on God’s behalf any less than a man’s service? Of course not!

And aren’t our men wonderful for all they do, for their strength, that is equal or often superior to women. Let us not diminish the masculinity of our men, but celebrate and honor them, build them in their youth, for they are glorious as they honor and keep prepared to use the keys they are given, at any time; keys that are only for the purpose of serving others on God’s behalf!

I am so grateful for the angels that surround me. Some who have whispered in my ear or whose presence have wrapped me in warmth, though I could not see them; and many, many who I can see serving with a generous spirit. God bless you all!

Yes! I believe in angels!

Thank you to all the artists whose songs share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and fill my life with joy.
