Come Follow Me Doctrine and Covenants 6–9
What is Revelation? Do you feel it as a sudden epiphany? An impression? A clarity of thought? A feeling of peace or warmth? A vision or dream? An enlightenment following much seeking and study? Or from a song? I have experienced all of these and more. One thing is clear to me- a higher power IS speaking to me. Am I listening?
There’s a saying that we have two ears and only one mouth. This means we should be listening more than we should be speaking. And since I like to use my mouth to eat too, that gives me even more time for listening.
Fact: I could pick any song that uplifts and enlightens and know that it is a product of revelation. Thank you Emma- and Amen. A power of music is that it engages both sides of the brain, opening logic and emotion together, a pathway to hear a higher voice.

Benton Blount reminds us that God speaks to us even at our lowest times. Perhaps as an answer to someone else praying for us when we’re too stubborn or lost to feel like we can call on him.
God Talks to Me – Benton Blount
When ideas come to me for what to write or what to teach, I am so excited by the ideas that I recognize as more than my own thoughts. “You should blog what you’re doing each week anyway,” an impression came to me. That is not me! A young friend called me a blogger. I’m a blogger? Huh. I’m just following the impression of an angel on my shoulder. “You should put those bunch of thoughts together into a novel.” Whoa! That continues to be a work in progress.
You should reach out to that someone you just were thinking about. . .
Talking to God – Chrissy Metz
1 Kings 19:11-13 KJV tells of Elijah, a prophet, seeking to hear the word of the Lord.
11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the Lord. And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

What is revealed to you? Does listening to music invite inspiration? If it uplifts and enlightens, then follow that impression – that revelation to you.
