Come Follow Me Doctrine and Covenants 45
“Ye look and behold the fig trees, and ye see them with your eyes, and ye say when they begin to shoot forth, and their leaves are yet tender, that summer is now nigh at hand;” (Doctrine & Covenants 45:37)
I don’t have a fig tree, but I’ve been watching the show and transformation of many blooms in my yard over the past weeks, their blossoms a promise of the bright season to come.
Take a seat and join the circle; enjoy Cynthia Clawson singing this sweet song.
Thank God For the Promise of Spring – Cynthia Clawson
All things testify of Christ! The cycle of our seasons is a beautiful reminder of Jesus overcoming death, and that life is renewed again in Him.
Walking through the Holy Land is still on my bucket list. I pray that conflicts can settle in that area, welcoming to visitors again. Until then, I enjoy this tour with Chris Renzema.
Springtime – Chris Renzema
The scripture above continues in verse 38, “Even so it shall be in that day when they shall see all these things, then shall they know that the hour is nigh.”
So, we’re talking about more than resurrection here. The promise of Christ’s return and reign on earth has been anticipated for centuries; with the renewal and perfection of the earth and all who live upon it. We are closer than ever to see the fulfillment of that promise. How then will this new song be sung.
When the Savior Comes Again – Children’s Choir/The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints
Ten gathered in anticipation of the Bridegroom. They were known as Virgins, recognized to be within the family of the Bride. Yet only half of them were prepared for the long wait, for no one knew when the Bridegroom would arrive.
Yes, this story is about us. Preparation isn’t only about having food storage and Emergency Preparedness Kits. It’s about being spiritually prepared. For how will we meet the Jesus? Will we run to him with joy? Or will we hold back?
If you fear what is coming, then take inventory of your relationship with our Savior. Turn to him (repent), get to know him better, feel His unending love for you.
We are already in the midst of the terrible days prophesied of. How exciting it will be when we can see the end of them, when Jesus returns and leads a kingdom of peace.
I’ll see you there.
