Come Follow Me 3 Nephi 17-19
Our wedding day -we look forward to it with great longing – a day of rejoicing! It marks the beginning . . . of everything to come! And the foundation of our focus through the next few weeks.
I love the image we are taught of Jesus as The Bridegroom. He takes his bride – his Church – in hand to be one with him in love and purpose. What a wondrous union. Would we not want to join our lives with the perfect Bridegroom?
Joshua and Ainy present this very concept so profoundly in their original wedding song. Thank you for your teaching and sharing this beautiful day with all of us. And Congratulations.

We recognize that we are the weak spouse in this marriage with Christ. Yet he loves us without condition, in spite of our warts. That is amazing. Does he make us clean, whole, perfect? Or perhaps once all the grime is scrubbed away we can be seen as Jesus has seen us all along- as we truly are.
You may remember Johnny Lingo. The link here is for the 1969 original film – about 25 minutes. The 2003 MGM film is good too, but has a very different take-away message. Get the family together, popcorn and pineapple juice, and enjoy this film, along with classic sounds of the late 60s.

Our Bridegroom is a precious and dear gift, one who sees with clarity, filled with love and compassion. Does this not answer the question of ‘how does He see you’? We are made whole in him, perfected through his absolute love and atoning sacrifice.

Let us not be a reluctant bride. Embrace a union with our Christ Jesus.
