Come Follow Me 3 Nephi 12-16

As we hear the teachings of Jesus Christ, we might consider his master sermon was what we call The Sermon on the Mount. Blessed are ye, he teaches, that as we believe we can then be baptized with water, and with fire and the Holy Ghost. Blessed are the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, those who are persecuted for His sake . . . blessed are these Who come unto Him, for it is through Him that these things are made blessed.

These songs convey only a small portion of this sermon, but if only one thing is learned and embedded deeply enough, it is enough.

“Verily, I give unto you to be the salt of the earth.” Salt: A preserver. A needed element in our bodies. An enhancer of flavor.

“I give unto you to be a light of this people.” Light: Illumination by which all truth can be seen. Not to be hidden under a bushel, but to shine forth. “Therefore let your light so shine . . .”

Jesus Christ is the author of all these things. He invites us to be like him- to resemble our creator.

Thank you to all the artists whose songs share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and fill my life with joy.
